Two separate fires kept Wichita Falls firefighters busy Wednesday afternoon.
Two separate fires kept Wichita Falls firefighters busy Wednesday afternoon.

The first one was sparked in a detached apartment in the 2300 block of 10th Street. Fire officials say when firefighters arrived, they saw flames coming from the home.

Luckily no one was home, but fire officials say the structure was heavily damaged. One woman who lived in a nearby apartment was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out in about 20 minutes and the cause of the blaze is under investigation..

Around the same time, firefighters also fought a garage apartment fire near 16th and Burnett Streets.

The fire caused some damage to the outside of the structure. Fire officials suspect the cause to be electrical but it remains under investigation.
