Unemployment Rates Decline in North Texas

Unemployment rates declined in the Texas Workforce Commission's North Texas Region in August from 5.8 percent in July and 5.9 percent in August of 2012, to 5.4% last month.
Unemployment rates declined in the Texas Workforce Commission's North Texas Region in August from 5.8 percent in July and 5.9 percent in August of 2012, to 5.4% last month.

The number fell in every of the 11 counties except Cottle County. The rate there increased to 5.4% from 5 percent the month before.

The lowest rate was in Baylor County at 3.6%, down from 4.2% in July. Wichita County has the higest rate at 6 percent, which is down from 6.5% in July.
