USPS Announcing Plans to Halt Saturday Mail Delivery

U.S. Postal Service is set to announce plans to cut Saturday mail delivery.

After months of debate, the U.S. Postal Service will announce Wednesday their plans to discontinue Saturday mail delivery. This includes letters, bills, cards, and catalogs. However, packages, mail-order medicine, and express mail will continue to be delivered on Saturdays. Post offices will continue to be open on Saturdays as well.

The decision to cut Saturday mail delivery is meant to save the U.S. Postal Service about $2 Billion annually as it continues to struggle with the rising popularity of email and social media as well as the climbing costs of providing health benefits to its workers.
