As the water supply continues to dwindle the water reuse project that will turn waste water into drinking water is moving into a new stage.
Russell Schreiber with public works says the project will save water that once went down the river by taking waste water from the plant and transporting it to the cypress water treatment facility.
In February councilors voted to spend 300- thousand- dollars to hire an engineering company to make a preliminary engineering report, plans and specifications for the project
Now city workers are in the process submitting that report to the Texas Commission on Environmental Equality for approval.
Russell Schreiber with Wichita Falls Public Works says "You wanna give yourself every opportunity for mother nature to come through with some rain but you also cant wait to long before you start the project".
The overall projection is to have the project up and running if needed by spring 2014.
