Water Safety Tips for the Holiday Weekend

It's a grim statistic, but  already 18 children in the Lone Star State have drowned since the beginning of the year.
    Summer is almost here, but it's never too late to remind everyone to stay safe especially in the water. It's a grim statistic, but  already 18 children in the Lone Star State have drowned since the beginning of the year. And that's according to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
    They say most children drown between Memorial Day and Labor Day, so the department is using this weekend to remind everyone to pay extra attention to the little ones.
    Here are water safety tips:
  •      Never leave a child alone by large bodies of water
  •      Make sure pools are gated with latching gates
  •      Keep a phone near by
  •      Learn CPR
