Thousands of people are expected to roll into Wichita Falls for the the 32nd Annual Hotter'N Hell Hundred and there's plenty to do besides the grueling 100 mile ride.

Off the beaten path in Wichita Falls, you'll find Wee-Chi-Tah Trail Boss Pat Foster and a few volunteers hard at work getting the trails ready for this year's Hotter'N Hell.

Foster says they're thrilled to showcase the hard work that's been put into getting Wichita Falls' trails ready for all participants.

"I work year-round," Foster says. "These guys have been out since July, mid-July, and they come out and we start doing the heavy work."

Foster says the off-road events give Hotter'N Hell participants an escape from the huge event's urban setting.

He says, "This has been such a great year with the weather. Everything is staying green. It's dark and it's cool out here and it's just like being out of the city. It's like being in the middle of the woods."

In addition, this year Foster says they've made some changes to the trails and have added new features.

Also, Wee-Chi-Tah Trails Race Director Sandy Monson encourages people to get out and explore what the off-road events have to offer.

"We're kind of an underground thing," Monson says. "As more people know about us, they are all here in town for the Hotter N' Hell so if they're runners or mountain bikers or even walkers, they can come out and do our events."

As the mountain bike race and trail run grow in popularity, Foster says he'll be there to clear the path.

Monson says they've seen registration in off-road events increase by 15% over last year.

They say registration for Wee-Chi-Tah Trail mountain bike race has closed but there is still time to register for the 10K or half marathon trail run.
