W.F. Chamber President & CEO Speaks at Economic Forum Luncheon

The new head of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry allowed those who attended the Economic Forum Luncheon to get to know him better.

The new head of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been on the job for nearly two weeks.

And today he allowed members of the local business community to get to know him better.

Henry Florsheim spoke at the Economic Forum Luncheon in Wichita Falls.

He discussed his family and his attitude on economic development.

Since starting on the job November 1st Florsheim says he has visited several city manufacturers and continues learning the city's history.

And when it comes to projects the chamber has established before he was hired, like bringing Ulm Corporation to town, Florsheim says he plans to leave them in the hands of his staff.

"They've been managing these projects so there's not a need organizationally for me to come in and take over any particular project. So, can't do it all at once so as something comes up I'll get involved. I'll meet the decision makers at the companies and we will just continue to build from there," Florsheim says.

Florsheim says it's still too early for him to give his prospects on jobs and businesses in the next year.

As for bringing new business to town he says he does see the city's water situation as challenging, but not impossible.
