Wichita Falls city leaders have given the green light to the annual budget.

Councilors unanimously approved the $162.9 million budget Tuesday morning, which officials say is $4 million more than last year's approved amount, thanks to several big projects.

"We have and increase in our water and sewer fund over $1.3 million dollars for the water reuse project and the new debt in main flushing program that's required by the TCEQ. We have over a million dollar in new debt coming on line for the new terminal facility out at Regional Airport," says Jim Dockery, says Wichita Falls Assistant City Manager/CFO.

Councilors also approved maintaining the current property tax rate in the budget, which is 63.526 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
