Wichita Falls city leaders voted to dive into plans to construct a new slide at Castaway Cove.

The new addition would be an Aqualoop water slide, and cost over $1 million dollars.

Assistant City Manager Kevin Hugman says moving forward with construction now is best.

"If we delay the project another year then, it's likely that the cost of the slide, labor , material, that and inflation, it would probably add another 5 to 10% of the cost to that. So, that could be $50,000 to $100,000," Hugman says.

All councilors agreed with Hugman and voted to continue with the new slide project.

It's expect to be up and running next May.
