WF Councilors to Vote on Sheppard Joint Land Use Agreement

At Tuesday’s city council meeting, Wichita Falls councilors will be voting on a resolution that if approved would accept the Sheppard joint land use study.
At Tuesday’s city council meeting, Wichita Falls councilors will be voting on a resolution that if approved would accept the Sheppard joint land use study.

The study has been researched for over a year now.

It's done at military installations across the US and is designed to improve the working relationship between communities and bases.

Officials say the goal is to accommodate for new economic development protect public health and safety and sustain operational missions of Sheppard and Fredrick Auxiliary Airfield.

Before completing the study base and city officials met with Wichita Falls citizens to get their feedback on how the city and the base could work together better.

The study is funded through the Department of Defense.
