The new year will soon bring a new way for Wichita Falls residents to pay their city water bill.
The city is preparing to replace the current drive through window at the water department with JACK, which is short for Justified Automated collections Kiosk.
Utility officials say JACK arrived just before Christmas and will soon allow customers to pay their bills any time of the day or night.
"This will allow customers to pay their bills 24 hours a day, cash, check, credit card. It will give you change. There's a function on there for Spanish speaking customers and basically, we're going from 40 hours a week to 24 hours a day now," says Garry Capron, Wichita Falls utility collection manager.
Capron says the kiosk cost $35,000 and will require a $5,000 a year fee for maintenance.
City officials expect to install the JACK in about two weeks and say during that time that drive thru window will be shut down for one week.
