WFFD Fight House Fire In Freezing Temperatures

The cold temperatures caused some problems for fire fighters Friday night.
A Wichita Falls family is without a home Friday night after a fire.

Just after 8 p.m. Wichita Falls fire fighters responded to a call in the 2500 block of Garden Grove Lane.

Fire Chief Don Groves says the family and their dog were not home, so everyone is safe, but a cat has not been found.

Chief Groves says the house is a total loss, and the damage is estimated to be over $300,000.

When fire fighters arrived neighbors say the cold temperatures caused the water to freeze but now the fire is under control.

Chief Groves says the cause is unknown and the fire department is still investigating.
