A school project for Wichita Falls art students will soon spread some Christmas cheer to hundreds of clients of The Kitchen.

Art teachers from eight different WFISD schools dropped off Christmas cards to The Kitchen this afternoon.

As part of a class project, students crafted about 1,000 handmade holiday cards that will soon go to clients in The Kitchen's Meals on Wheels program.

And coordinators say they are sure to make the holiday bright for recipients.

"There's a chance that sometimes, our Meals on Wheels recipients might only see their meals on wheels volunteer delivery person and their postman each day.  So, with that in mind, you might say that there's a good chance that this card might be the only card they get this year," says Jackie Riley, director of development and marketing at The Kitchen.

Coordinators say there are enough cards to give to seniors who eat lunch at the Red Door and the Green Door.

This is the first time The Kitchen has teamed with WFISD for Christmas cards and coordinators hope it will not be the last.
