City councilors will be voting on a resolution Tuesday that will amend the city's lease with the Air Force for the airport.
City councilors will be voting on a resolution Tuesday that will amend the city's lease with the Air Force for the airport.

In 2009 the city entered an agreement with the Air Force and Sheppard for use of aviation facilities including a runway, taxiway, Armstrong Drive and the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport Terminal.

Now as part of the terminal area project turning the airport into the Wichita Falls Regional Airport, the city wants to lease about 3 and a half more acres for a commercial aircraft apron that will service the new terminal building.

It will cost a little over 4 thousand dollars the first year with small increases each year after.

The lease runs till the year 2059.
