Wichita Adult Literacy Council's Annual Book Sale Kicks Off

Avid readers are doggedly determined to find that book to dog-ear, and what better place to look for a literary treasure than the Wichita Adult Literacy Council's 15th annual book sale.

Volunteers sorted through 32 different book genres in order to get ready for the book fair. Most of the books cost either 50-cents $1. The organization's goal is to raise at least $15,000 from this year's event.
"We have over 50,000 books collected. They are donated from the community that love our literacy council. We collect them all year long and now they are for sale," said Cindy Price, Wichita Adult Literacy Council.
The book sale continues through the weekend at MSU's Sikes Lake Center, on Midwestern Parkway.
