Wichita Co. Justices of the Peace Head State JOP Associations

Judge Marc Newman and Judge Janice Sons are at the top of the state's two organizations for justices of the peace.

Two Wichita County justices of the peace are now heads of their respective state organizations, which is a major accomplishment for any county to achieve.

Justice of the Peace Precinct Three Marc Newman and Justice of the Peace Precinct One, Place One Janice Sons are now serving at the top of their judge associations.

Right now, Newman serves as vice president of the Texas Justice Court Judges Association.

He says sons serves as the same for the Texas Justice of the Peace and Constable Association.

Those organizations make sure the judges are up-to-date with the latest legislation and state-mandated training.

And having two judges from the same county, much less Wichita County, is a huge honor.

"For Wichita County, it means the voters have elected people who are actually interested in the education and facility and operations of the justice courts and the justice court clerks," Judge Newman says.

Newman says with the way things sit right now, both he and Sons are on track to become the presidents of their respective organizations in just a few short years.
