The Class of 2011 is being applauded for reaching an all time high graduation rate.

It's always an exciting time for high school students when their years of studying and making the grade pay off on graduation day.

But, for Wichita Falls and state education officials, last year was not just an exciting time for them.

It was also a record- setting time because the high school on-time graduation rate hit an all-time high.

According to the Texas Education Agency, 85.9% of the Class of 2011 graduated on time.

And, education officials say that rate is 1.6% higher than the previous record set by the Class of 2010.

However in Wichita Falls, school officials say last year's graduation rate was 90.9%, which, as you see, is even higher than the state rate.
