State law requires city officials to hold two public hearings before voting on the property tax rate.
At this Tuesday's meeting, councilors will be voting on a resolution that will set those public hearings for next month.
The current property Texas rate is about 6 cents per 100 dollars of assessed property value and it is recommend that it stays the same.
If the resolution passes the two hearings will be September 2nd and September 9th at eight thirty a.m. In memorial auditorium.
And the final vote by councilors will be September 16th.
