Wichita Falls city councilors will vote on a resolution of support for a new 49-unit apartment complex proposed for vacant land at Fairway and Johnson Road.

The developer is requesting the resolution of support to improve the project's state rating to receive tax credits and funding assistance from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Development.

If built, the complex would be called Royal Gardens and would consist of 44 low income and 5 market rate apartments.

The city has contributed land to the project, which was undeveloped portions of Rider Avenue and Columbia Road.

The land is already zoned for multi-family residential housing.
