Wichita Falls ISD Choice Program May be Improved

The Wichita Falls ISD Choice program was discussed Monday at the board meeting, and there could be improvements in the coming school year.
The Wichita Falls ISD choice program was discussed at the meeting Tuesday, and board members say the main goal for this coming school year is to tighten the policy and eliminate loopholes.

They will be working to set the zones within a certain distance of a school to give parents and students first choice of that school.

"The ongoing discussion has been out in the community about how to streamline the choice and modify it and make it simpler for parents, also accommodating for families that move in over the summer months and over the school year," Renae Murphy with the Wichita Falls ISD said.

A sub-committee will get together and work out the details of this plan and will present it to the board on Monday night.

The board stated that they anticipate this to go on throughout the summer months and they hope to have a plan implemented before the school year begins.
