Wichita Falls ISD Summer Feeding Program Kicks Off

The Summer Feeding Program, where certain students can get breakfast and lunch at several of the schools within the district, kicked off today.
Students at Hirschi high school, Mcneil Junior High and Southern Hills Elementary enjoyed free lunch and breakfast today.

This is part of Wichita Falls ISD's Summer Feeding Program.

It is the 23rd year of the school district's involvement in the program.

The school district helps students in need during the school year by providing them with breakfast and lunch and this program continues it during the summer.

Murphy said sixty-five percent of the students within the school district are on the program providing them with free or reduced school lunches.

Any of these students from ages one to eighteen can go to any of the school locations for the meals, no matter what school they go to.

The program dates and times are as follows:

Hirschi High School- 3106 Borton
(Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00 am and Lunch: 11:30am - 12:00 noon): June 10 - July 11

Wichita Falls High School - 2149 Avenue H 
(Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00am and Lunch 11:30am - 12:00 noon): July 7 - July 11

Rider High School - 4611 Cypress
(Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00am and Lunch: 11:30am - 12:00 noon): July 7 - July 11

McNeil Jr. High - 4712 Barnett Rd. 
(Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00am and Lunch: 10:45am- 11:45am): June 10 - 25

Southern Hills Elementary - 3920 Armory Rd.
(Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00am and Lunch: 10:45am - 11:45am): June 10 - July 3

Camp Fire USA - 2524 Terrace
(Breakfast: 7:30 - 8:00am and Lunch: 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm): June 9 - 27

Also at the meeting today, the board also approved a price increase for elementary school lunches today. This includes a five cent increase for students and a ten cent increase for adults and visitors.
