A Wichita Falls Police officer with more than ten years on the force is indicted for injury to a child and assault family violence.

Officer Gerald Anthony Morgan is charged with assault family violence - choking and injury to a child -- both 3rd degree felonies.

According to arrest records, the incident happened in the 51-hundred block of Jamaica last December.  Documents say Morgan accused his wife of taking his medication, and the two started arguing.

The affidavit states Morgan then took her medication from her purse.  The woman told police she tried to take it back, but then she says Morgan pushed her, and she fell onto her 10 year-old daughter.

Then, it states their 15 year-old son told Morgan to return the medication, and Morgan allegedly grabbed his throat and pushed him against a door.  And then, when his wife tried to stop Morgan, the report says he threw her against a wall.

Morgan was put on paid administrative leave after his arrest.
