Wichita Falls Police Say Man Admits to Additional Robberies

After a Wichita Falls man is arrested for one convenience store robbery, police say he admits to two other robberies last week.


After a Wichita Falls man is arrested for one convenience store robbery, police say he admits to two other robberies last week.

Nineteen year-old Charles Tyler RayBaswell is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and evading arrest.

Police say Saturday, just after 5 p.m., RayBaswell walked into the Zoom Zoom's #1 convenience store on Seymour Highway armed with a long metal pipe.

They say after threatening the clerk he took an undetermined amount of money from the register and incense then ran from the store.

Numerous police units flooded the area and police say RayBaswell was found  walking in the 300 block of Taylor with the pipe and dropping money.

He was arrested after a foot chase and booked into the Wichita County jail
Today, police say RayBaswell admitted to the two armed robberies committed last Thursday and Friday at 5th Street Discount Store, which is located on the corner of 5th and Baylor.

In those robberies, police say the armed man walked into the store with a baseball bat, demanded money from the clerk, and then took off on foot with an undisclosed amount.

RayBaswell's bonds now total more than $300,000.
