Wichita Falls Water and Sewer Rates are Going Up

Water and sewer rates will increase by four percent.
Wichita Falls water and sewer rates are going up.
Retail and residential water and sewer rates will increase by four-percent now that the new budget is adopted.
City officials say the increase will bring in about $900-thousand revenue to the city.
Wholesale rates will be reduced by 32-percent for surrounding cities that purchase water from Wichita Falls.
The reduction will reduce revenue in the coming budget year by around a $1-million.
And property taxes will increase by about one penny per $100 of property value.
These changes take effect Oct. 1.
