Wiggins Gets Life in Prison for Indecency with a Child by Contact

During Wiggins' trial, three young girls came forward and said the now 44-year-old molested them.  At the time each of them were molested, Wiggins was dating the respective child's mother.

The Wichita Falls man convicted yesterday of indecency with a child by contact is sentenced today in 89th District Court.

Ezekiel Wiggins is sentenced to life in prison.

During punishment arguments this morning, yet another young girl came forward and said Wiggins raped her.

The incident she spoke of allegedly happened in the summer of 2009 when she was 13-years-old.

She spoke of another instance that occurred a couple weeks later.

Those are the only two instances she spoke of, but she said the assault happened more than just those times.

Though three victims testified during the course of the trial, Wiggins was only convicted of an indecency incident involving an eight-year-old girl that happened in 2005.

CPS investigators initially threw out the victim's case back in 2006.

But when a new investigator of child crimes took over at the police department, he found the case file and decided to meet with the victim again in hopes of getting justice for her.

Starla Jones, the lead prosecutor in the case, says, "Certainly the law enforcement officers involved in this, particularly with the Wichita Falls Police Department, did a very good job going back and locating this information, recontacting this victim, and getting this disclosure."

Wiggins is charged with aggravated sexual assault for the two other victims that testified in this trial, but Jones says those cases must be tried separately.

She says no decision has been made as to whether to dismiss or try the two remaining cases.
