As we wait and pray for rain, another Texoma county is enacting a burn ban as the wildfire season arrives.

Wilbarger County commissioners by a vote of 4 to 1 this morning enacted a 30-day burn ban.

Outdoor burning is prohibited with certain exemptions, such as approved agricultural burns and for safety reasons.

Wilbarger County has not been under a burn ban for about seven months.

Less than 2 inches of rain has fallen in most parts of the county this year.
