Winners of I.D.E.A. WF 2012 Announced

Entrepreneurs have had their creative juices flowing for months getting their business plans ready for the I.D.E.A WF competition.  The top three winners were announced at the I.D.E.A. WF awards banquet at MSU's Clark Student Center today.
If you're a business entrepreneur who has an idea, I.D.E.A. WF wants to hear it.
It's already helped business owners in the past including Kenny Humpert, who owns Kenny's All-Purpose Seasonings.
"We probably quadrupled our sales in 2011, the year that I won that.  And then this year, we're probably looking at quadrupling even that number," Humpert says.
Now the competition is welcoming three more businesses to the winner's circle: The Taxidermist's Woodshop, this year's third place winner, NET Audio, which came in second place, and Midwest Waste Services, the winner of I.D.E.A. WF 2012.
Jeff Watts, co-owner of Midwest Waste Services, says, "We are a fully-integrated waste collection system here in the Wichita, Clay, Archer, Tarrant, Parker, and Wise County area."
The company opened its doors in Wichita Falls in July 2011.
They provide residential and commercial waste service in rural areas.
"We provide what used to be very expensive trash service now at affordable trash rates in those areas," Watts says.
Midwest Waste Services' owners collectively have more than 40 years of experience in the waste management industry.
And now that they've won the 2012 I.D.E.A. WF competition, they also have $35-thousand in cash and inkind services they can use to help their business grow.
"I think we'll just invest in more inventory, and do that kind of thing which helps us and leads our credit line and helps us grow even faster," Watts says.
The company is the exclusive provider of waste services in Windthorst and Scotland, and they hope to use their prize money to expand their municipal contracts.
This was the third year of the competition.
Organizers say four of the six past winners are still in business.
