Woman Arrested for Leaving Four-Year-Old in Hot Car for One Hour

Twenty-one year-old Cindy Lynn McKinney is charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
    A Wichita Falls woman is charged for leaving a child in a hot car while she and her brother went shopping.
    Twenty-one year-old Cindy Lynn McKinney is charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
    An arrest affidavit states a woman found a four-year-old girl screaming inside a van parked outside of Sikes Senter Mall.
    The woman says the child was soaking wet from sweat, and the outside temperature was about 99 degrees.
    She took the child inside to security officers inside the mall.
    The affidavit states more than 30 minutes later, McKinney returned and was looking for the child.
    McKinney's brother said they left the girl in the car for about an hour while they shopped because she was asleep when they got there.
    CPS took the four-year-old into protective custody.
