Woman Charged for Taking Drugs, Causing Infant's Death

Hospital staff say 20-year-old Jacee Skipworth ingested methamphetamine, which ultimately led to the death of her child.
A Wichita Falls woman is now charged in the death of her infant last year.
Twenty-year-old Jacee Skipworth is charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
According to an arrest affidavit, Skipworth was 31 weeks pregnant when she went to the hospital complaining of abdominal pains.
She underwent emergency surgery, but the baby died 30 minutes later.
Hospital staff determined Skipworth's placenta ruptured because she had ingested methamphetamine.
They also say the infant had methamphetamine intoxication.
Skipworth was booked into the Wichita County Jail on a $75-thousand bond.
    She has bailed out.
