A Texoma teacher with 40 years of experience in educating youngsters in Wichita Falls is the recipient of a prize with a special connection to the world famous Nobel Peace Prize.
Sally Perkins is an english teacher and National Honor Society adviser.
Tonight, during an event at Wichita Christian School, Mrs. Perkins received the "Educator of Distinction" award from the National Society of High School Scholars... which was started in 2002 by a member of the Nobel family.
The award recognizes the teacher or counselor viewed by students as a positive role model... a person who has made a lasting difference in students' lives... or is someone who encourages students to strive for excellence.
