Family Loses Belongings in House Fire, Needs Donations

An Iowa Park family's home is a total loss because of an overnight fire.
An Iowa Park family lost everything they own in a house fire overnight.

The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. at the home in the 700 block of East Pasadena St.

Officials say the family's barking dog woke them up and the majority of the home was already engulfed.

The preliminary investigation shows electrical problems could have started that fire.

Thankfully there were no injuries, but the family only made it out with the clothes on their backs.

That home belonged to a Wichita County Tax Assessor-Collector employee and her family, so that office will be taking donations for them starting Monday at 8 a.m.

They'll be taking donations of clothing, household items, and monetary donations during business hours.
