Goats on Fire Patrol

Colorado community uses goat herd to reduce risk of wildfire.

There are no chainsaws or heavy machinery. It's just goats, who eat brush and foliage off trees. It's a vital process to protect homes in the Roxborough Park neighborhood from fires.

"We want trees. We want animals. We want to live with nature," said Dick Hart, who helped organize the goats.

The community already spends money every year for fire mitigation, but Hart says the goats, who don't actually pull up roots, are an environmentally friendly option to remove fuel for fires.
