A democratic Texas lawmaker was in Wichita Falls on Friday evening talking to democrats about important issues and Senator Wendy Davis' decision to run for governor.

Dozens gathered to hear from Houston representative Jessica Farrar.

Farrar is the chair of the Texas Women's Health Caucus Representative and past leader of the House Democratic Caucus.

She says Senator Davis' run for governor could gather enough support to turn the state of Texas blue because of her popularity.

Farrar says, "Wendy has been in there and is standing up for regular folks, who one person did a lot. She brought people to the capitol this summer that we've never seen those numbers and I've been here 20 years."

She also talked about health care issues like Obamacare and how it impacts women.
