WFISD School Board members were presented today with the improvement plans for four schools who failed to meet adequate yearly progress required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
During the board's special session held today representatives from Burgess Elementary, Washington Jackson Elementary, Hirschi and Old High School discussed strategies to meet the standards.
"There are specifics each campus is using to obtain success some of them are using an extended school day, some are addressing their school climate with attendance and discipline, some are really focusing on the academic performances," Christy Nash, the Asst. Director of Federal Programs, said.
Next week Alamo, Houston and Scotland Park Elementary and Rider High School will present their improvement plans.
