Job Fair Focuses on Veterans

Hiring Red, White and You Job Fair reeled in more than 80 veterans today.

Sharp Iron on Hatton Road hosted the state-wide campaign.

Eighteen employers participated in the event hoping to fill openings with members of our nation's finest.

And many veterans considered this job fair very beneficial.

While some vets talked with employers others actually filled out applications.

Coordinators say a $1 million dollar initiative by Texas Workforce Commission will certainly help veterans who served post 9/11.

It will help offset employer training costs for eligible vets who are new hires to expedite the return of veterans to the workplace.
