The last of 7 people arrested in a federal and local drug investigation in Wichita County beginning in 2012 was sentenced in federal court in Dallas Monday.

Twenty-six-year-old Darren Scott Murphy was sentenced by Judge Reed O'Connor of the Northern District of Texas to 240 months for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and 120 months for being a felon in possession of a firearm, to run concurrently.

Six other defendants have been sentenced to from 36 to 480 months in prison.

According to court records, Janis Hernandez, who was sentenced earlier this month to 136 months, distributed meth in Electra and Wichita Falls, and Murphy supplied the meth.

Authorities say she admitted she acted as a broker for the meth, and introduced him to other buyers. Texas DPS, Wichita Falls Police, Wichita County District Attorney's Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were all involved in the investigation.
