A Lawton security company employee who stole close to a million dollars from ATMs she serviced has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison.

Investigators say 48 year old Maria Estelle Martin took the cash from vaults and kept it instead of putting it in the ATMs.

She pleaded guilty to embezzling cash from a credit institution in September.

According to court documents, Martin spent most of the money at casinos, putting up to $70,000 into single slot machines.

In addition to the 33 month sentence, Martin will be on 5 years of supervised release after serving the time and must repay almost $850,000 of the stolen money.

She faced a maximum 30 year sentence and a $1 million fine.
