The Wichita Falls community is remembering a former Hirschi girls basketball player with a scholarship program.
Lisa Phillips played basketball for the Huskies for 4 years in the early 80's.
She passed away in 2009 at the age of 44 from heart disease.
Now her younger sister, Latosca Brunner is trying to keep her memory going with a scholarship in Lisa's name and bring awareness to heart disease which is the number one killer among women.
"I think she would be really excited about it. She was my influence to push me to go to school and further my education. So I know this would be something she would totally support. She said don't stop here go further," said Brunner.
If you are interested in donating or applying for the scholarship email your information to ldpscholarship84@gmail.com
