Several non-profits receive some big money after a successful legacy project for the Leadership Wichita Falls class of 2013.

In total the class raised more than $45,000 from the Falls Fast and Furious event several weekends ago.

Among the check recipients were the Children's Aid Society, Leadership Wichita Falls and Whispers of Hope Horse Farm, which was the “We are so blessed, we are so excited. It's hard to imagine but this is making our dream come true,” said Mary Elizabeth Pearce, the Whispers of Hope Founder.

That dream is a brand new 20 stall barn which they are still fund-raising for.

Whispers of Hope says it will be a three phase project costing just about $300,000.

They hope to begin construction after the new year.
