Many Veterans Day Events Taking Place Monday

Monday morning at 9 a Veteran's Day ceremony will kick off in front of McNair hall at Fort Sill Army Post in Lawton. Participants of that event will hear three different speakers who will deliver three different perspectives on being a veteran.

Two years ago, a groundbreaking ceremony took place for a veterans monument in Montague County. Monday morning at 11 a dedication of that monument will take place at the Montague County Courthouse.

Also at 11 in Wichita Falls, the WFISD will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony at Memorial Stadium. The keynote speaker will be Wichita Falls Police Chief Manuel Borrego.

And Golden Corral will honor our nation's heroes with a satisfying meal. The restaurant will hold its annual Military Appreciation Monday. All veterans and active duty military personnel can enjoy a free buffet dinner and dessert Monday from 4 to 9 at the Golden Corral in Wichita Falls and Lawton.

The city of Wichita Falls is offering free service on the city's public transportation system on Monday the 11th to residents and visitors.

Students will honor local veterans with a free luncheon in the school cafeteria.

Emeritus at Lakeridge Place Retirement Center

Ceremony to honor the 16 living veterans residing at the retirement center.

Veterans and active duty military will receive a free On The Board "Create Your Own Combo Menu" meal.
To receive the free meal, guests must provide proof of military service, which include U.S. Uniform Services Identification Cars, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, DD214, Citation or commendation.
