Construction continues at the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport where phase one of three is scheduled to be complete in February.

While additions to the entry road and parking lot project are popping up, The city says they won't have to budget more money for the project. In a grant the city received six million dollars for the project from the FAA and they say even with the additions to the construction project they remain under that amount.

The Wichita Falls Aviation, traffic and transportation department says the new parking lot and entry road needs additional piping to better support the structure, add electrical services for safety purposes, and add more concrete for the sidewalk that will be installed.

They say because of the drought they will need to reseed 29 acres of runway 17-35, which was completed last year.
