Murder Defendant Granted Change of Venue

Jerry Joe Garza is charged with the February 2012 murder of Monica Partida, a Wichita Falls mother of three.
Attorneys have decided on a new venue for the trial of a man charged with the murder of his former girlfriend and for biting and assaulting two men in a bar.

Jerry Joe Garza is charged with the 2011 murder of Monica Partida and is being held on $3.5 million bond.

He will go to trial in Canyon and attorneys hope that trial will be set for the first two weeks of April of next year.

Garza did not attend the hearing on his case today.

He filed requests stating he did not want to attend pre-trial hearings.

Garza is charged with killing Monica Partida, his former girlfriend.

Her body was found in her home on Britain in February 2012.

Garza was already in jail when he was charged with her murder because he was charged with biting and assaulting two men in a bar who reportedly danced with her.
