New Jobs Report Disappointing

Weak jobs report shows hiring slowdown, fewer people looking for work.

Only 74,000 jobs were added in December, far below the average gain of over 200,000 jobs a month in preceding four months.

Many industries posted weak gains and some even cut jobs.

Transportation, warehousing, and even the government cut jobs in December.
