It appears once a week water sprinkling will continue to be allowed in Wichita Falls, at least through stage three restrictions.
At the last city council meeting Mayor Glenn Barham asked the water resource commission to look into amending changes to stage three restrictions to ban all outside sprinkler use.
Mayor Barham says after looking into the changes the commission decided that banning sprinkler use now would not make much of a difference.
He says the public is doing a great job conserving water already which is helping to keep our lakes above thirty percent.
He says another reason for not changing the restrictions is to help lawn care companies who have already made plans to deal with stage four restrictions.
"Knowing that stage four was coming in late summer or September and they already planned how they are going to deal with their businesses and for us to pull the trigger thirty to forty days sooner would severely impact those business," said Mayor Barham.
