Pratt & Whitney One of Several Industries Preparing for Stage 4 Water Audit

Another change coming in stage four will affect large industrial water users.
Another change coming in stage four will affect large industrial water users.

Top industrial users have 60 days starting from Saturday to present the city with a water audit..explaining how they can cut back their water usage.

Pratt & Whitney is on that list.

They need water to cool the furnaces they use to manufacture and clean the engine parts.

Since 2008 Pratt& Whitney has been able to cut back their water usage by about 3 million gallons a year.

They cut back their cooling process from three steps to two steps and in 2011 they stopped watering the landscaping.

But they are still looking at more ways to conserve as they prepare for their water audit.

“We meter our water use processes so we have a good idea of where the water goes and I think we will be able to partner with the city and give them a good audit,” says EH&S Manager, Kerry Hill.
