With the new restaurants.. comes the demolition of the old Vetrotex/Certainteed warehouse.
And, starting on Monday, construction will begin on the Lawrence/Rhea Road realignment project.
So, traffic may be even a little slower and stressful in that stretch.
The right west- bound lane of Call Field at Rhea Road will be closed initially ... and the right, north-bound lane of Lawrence at Call Field *might* be closed as well.
If you're looking to avoid that intersection during construction ... city officials say Maplewood is a good alternate route.
A city study conducted last year gave that intersection a "D" letter grade -- with "A" being the best.
The rating considered safety, convenience, and traffic flow.
This realignment is expected to bring the rating up -- and should be complete by Thanksgiving.
