More money's going toward breast cancer screenings, testing and treatment thanks to a first- ever event at J.S. Bridwell Ag Center.
More money's going toward breast cancer screenings, testing and treatment thanks to a first- ever event at J.S. Bridwell Ag Center.

The Wichita County Horse Extension Committee hosted the charity horse event, *Riding for Pink*.

Riders showed up in pink, to compete in showmanship and halter classes, and other fun events like bareback dollar, and egg and spoon races.

Katelyn Grimes showed up for the costume contest with her horse, P. Diddy.

She says they were dressed as Nighthawks for very good reasons.

"Nighthawks is a Christian, faith- based organization. I love the team. I love football. It's my special sport. I'm ready for it every year." "My Aunt Mary, she passed away from breast cancer. So, it was just a way to give back to her, and just a big, special thing."

Stephanie Johnston: "Everybody who loves their horses is here, and they're here to show them off and "Ride For Pink."

Johnston organized the event.

She says it was a perfect way for those who love horses to help the Wichita Falls affiliate of Susan G. Komen.
