Students Survive Bus Crash into Creek

Students pulled from a Kansas bus that overturned into a creek describe their ordeal.
(KSNW) Ten children and a bus driver were rescued Thursday afternoon after their bus toppled into a swollen creek near Douglass, Kansas. The children climbed through a roof hatch to await rescue.

Logan Parker, a 12-year-old sixth-grader, was riding the bus when it overturned. His parents gave KSN permission for him to share his story.

"The bus flipped over, and we was in the water," Parker described. "We climbed out and got on top of the bus. We were up there two hours and a half."

Parker says several kids were yelling, and a couple were crying.

"I thought I was going to die. I would never ever see my grandma again, and I was scared," said Parker. "I put my friends first, to try to get them out of the water."
