On Friday the Seymour panthers met the Quanah Indians in a game for at least a share of the district 3-1A championship.  The panthers were looking to end a 55 year championship, and ended up doing so in dramatic fashion.  That's why Seymour is our team of the week.
Coach Ivy had been waiting a long time to give this speech, the entire time he's been coaching at Seymour to be exact, "I told you at halftime i said...True character will show in the second half...we're winners...I knew we were winners...we just had to man up and make it happen...district champs that's 55 years since that's happend in Seymour texas...you guys accomplished something...it's been a long long time ok...now goal 1 is over and it's postseason time...we're gonna take care of archer next week then we're gonna go to the postseason...fantastic job..."
After a 48 minute slugfest, the Indians and Panthers ended regulation tied at 38.  Heading into overtime, Quanah won the toss, and the ball, but the panthers ruled the overtime period.  On 3rd down Clay Robertson got picked by Tanner Gillespe...And 2 plays later...Zach barton....somehow stretching toward the pylon, got the game winning score.  Barton finished the game with 191 yards passing, and 2 rushing touchdowns, including the game winner.
