Three people are behind bars after Wichita County deputies seize more than a half million dollars worth of pot during a traffic stop.

Fifty-four- year-old Sysomphone Tonsavanh of Illinois, 47-year-old Khamphone Sihavong of Houston and 54-year-old James Souphonphakdy of California are all charged with possession of marijuana over 50 pounds under 2000.

Authorities say yesterday at 2:00 AM deputies pulled over a Toyota 4 Runner going southbound on Hwy. 287 for a traffic violation.

The driver then told officers he was traveling from California to Dallas to see family.

Deputies asked to search the vehicle and when they did, they say they found just under 90 pounds of marijuana in a suitcase.

All three were taken to the Wichita County Detention center, each of their bonds are set at $50,000.
